Prashant GandhiPresident & CEORohati Systems, Inc. Prashant Gandhi is the President & Chief Executive Officer at Rohati Systems, Inc. With more than 17 years of high technology industry and academic experience, Gandhi brings a wealth of product marketing expertise to the Rohati team. Before Co-founding Rohati, Gandhi spent eight years at Cisco Systems, where he led numerous product marketing and strategy positions, primarily in the Cat6K and Data Center business units. While at Cisco, he led the definition of multiple strategic products including IPTV and IP Gaming; Metro Ethernet, the next-generation Catalyst 6500 forwarding engine; Ethernet DSLAM, deep packet forwarding engine; trusted security; virtual switch system; network virtualization, and XML web services, as well as Cisco’s Nexus 7000 data center switch. Additionally, he was the early marketing liaison for the company’s Data Center Ethernet (DCE) initiative. Gandhi began his career as an Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty member at Villanova University. He also held engineering roles at Intel, Digital Equipment Corporation and Texas Instruments. He holds a B.S.E.E. from the University of Maryland, M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Gandhi has published more than 60 technical papers and has authored eighteen patents. Abhijit PatraCo-founder and VP, Engineering,Rohati Systems, Inc. Abhijit Patra is Vice President of Engineering at Rohati Systems, Inc. Patra brings more than 17 years of system and networking experience to the Rohati team. Prior to joining Rohati, Patra spent over nine years at Cisco Systems where he was responsible for the architecture and delivery of products across multiple platforms, including ATM, L3 switch and L4-L7 service modules. He also led the development of two purpose-built security service modules for Catalyst 6500-SSL Acceleration and SSL VPN, from concept to completion. Both were purpose-built, multi-processor and multi-core architectures that delivered industry leading performance, scalability and virtualization at the time of their introduction. Prior to this, he was a key architect/designer for the 8500 Switch, Cisco's first product with wire-speed L3 switching and ACL using TCAM technology. Before joining Cisco, Patra spent six years at Wipro Ltd. Bangalore where he focused on the architecture and development of ATM switching and networking protocol/driver software for real-time and fault-tolerant systems. Patra holds a M.Tech (Computer Science) degree from IIT, Madras, India. He has co-authored 14 Patents, primarily for L4-L7 switching.[Top] |

Anant ThakarCo-founder and VP, HW & OperationsRohati Systems, Inc. Anant Thakar is the Vice President of Hardware Engineering & Operations at Rohati Systems, Inc. Specializing in high end system design, architectural innovation, hardware optimization, system partitioning and the management of the entire product life cycle, Thakar brings more than 18 years of industry experience to the Rohati team. Prior to joining Rohati, Thakar spent nine years at Cisco Systems, where he held the role of lead system architect and was a founding member of the Catalyst 6000 platform. A technical leader, Thakar architected and designed several generations of Cisco’s System supervisors, high-density 10G Ethernet line cards, as well as derivative products for the Metro Ethernet market. He started his career as R&D Engineer in Godrej & Boyce EBE R&D group where he focused on control and networking system products. After spending five years at Godrej R&D, he moved to start his own firm, Helios Microsystems. At Helios Microsystems, he developed various control board designs for Philips and Siemens for their embedded product division. Thakar received B.S. (Electronics) from Shivaji University and M.Tech (Electronics) from the Regional Engineering College in Warangal, India.[Top] |

Kirti PrabhuCo-founder and VP, Platform & Customer SupportRohati Systems, Inc. Kirti Prabhu is the Vice President of Platform & Customer Support at Rohati Systems. Prabhu comes to Rohati with 17 years of software design, development and delivery experience, as well as deep expertise in managing geographically distributed engineering teams. Prior to joining Rohati, Prabhu was at Cisco Systems where he led development teams in San Jose and India that architected and delivered the company’s high performance Firewall Services Module, a service blade for the Catalyst 6500 switch, as well as application inspection for all networking and VOIP protocols and the application firewall. He also designed the virtualization of the firewall with active-active stateful high-availability He also developed and led platform software and redundancy initiatives for the first two generations of the Catalyst 6500 supervisor modules. Before Cisco, Prabhu worked for Zexel USA Corp, (subsequently acquired by Ford’s Visteon Technologies) where he worked on the design and delivery of systems platform software for a GPS in-vehicle navigation system. Prabhu holds a B.S. (Computer Engineering) from the University of Pune in India and an M.S. (Computer Science) from Clemson University. [Top] |

Nagaraj BagepalliCo-founder and Sr. Director, Application SWRohati Systems, Inc. Nagaraj Bagepalli is Sr. Director, Application Software at Rohati Systems, Inc. He brings more than 14 years of systems and networking experience to the Rohati team. Prior to joining Rohati, Bagepalli spent nine years at Cisco Systems where he held senior engineering positions in the L4-L7 and security space. He has deep understanding of L4-L7 protocols and processing, including high-speed TCP, SSL, HTTP proxy/termination, deep packet inspection, application acceleration, security and SSLVPN technologies. While at Cisco, Bagepalli was the key architect in designing and developing two purpose built security services modules - SSL acceleration module and SSL VPN acceleration module for the Catalyst 6500/7600 switch family. He was also involved in proposing and architecting a Deep Packet Forwarding Engine (DPFE), which acts as a companion to the L2/L3 forwarding engine and provides deep packet classification, inspection and forwarding capability for the Cat6k platform. Prior to Cisco, Bagepalli held engineering positions at Wipro Infotech Ltd. Bagepalli has received a BS (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and an M.Tech (Computer Engineering) from IIT, Kharaghpur.
